California has a long and proud history of leading the nation in progressive policy.
Studio Adam Prince collaborated with San Diego-based creative agency Simpatika to design the brand identity for Cameron Gharabiklou, a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of California. Cameron launched his campaign with one overriding message: California Values Matter Now More Than Ever. He plans to use the office to engage Californians of all backgrounds, races, religions, and lifestyles.
We kicked the project off with a vision and planning session in which we led Cameron and his team through exercises that illuminated core values, personality, and visual direction, and helped our team understand the specific needs of the project. This work helped establish a strong identity designed to energize a movement against bigotry and fear and promote the strength and leadership of Californians.
Adam and his team are true branding experts that help you realize your vision and bring it to life. They translated the message and theme of the Cameron for California campaign into an impactful, consistent, and memorable identity.
The word mark is animated by a cursor, suggesting a story yet to be written and the potential for new spaces of collaboration and resistance. The iconic golden-yellow reflects the energetic spirit of California and promotes campaign recognition. We selected Fira Sans for the type system, an Open Source typeface that effectively balances accessibility, collaborative spirit, and digital savvy.
We crafted a library of ready-to-use building blocks, empowering Cameron's team to apply the identity across a range of applications, from video to social media and everything in between. To ensure consistency in visual and brand language, we also provided guidelines and templates.
We encourage all of our California people to check out Cameron for California and consider extending your support.
